Which Linux Distro Should I Suggest to My Non-Technical Friend?

Hey everyone! I've been using Linux for a while now, starting with Arch for some projects and later switching to Fedora on my main PC. Recently, I moved to CachyOS because I like the fast-paced nature of Arch and I wanted something that I could set up quickly with all the packages I typically use.

Now, I have a friend who's thinking about making the switch to Linux, but he's a complete beginner. I've been pondering over which distro might be best for him. Initially, I thought about recommending Linux Mint since it's often touted as user-friendly, but I'm not familiar with it personally and I don't have much experience with the APT package manager or Cinnamon desktop. This makes me worry about troubleshooting together.

I mainly work with KDE Plasma and Hyprland, and I wouldn't want to suggest a Window Manager to someone who's just starting out. I believe KDE Plasma would be the easiest environment for him to learn how to navigate the system.

I also use some tools that help with my Linux experience, such as ZSH Autocomplete and ZSH Autosuggestions with the Kitty terminal, and I want to make sure that he won't struggle too much. He's not as technical as I am, so I'm concerned that I'd be unhelpful if the tools I rely on work divergingly from what he would need.

Besides, he's a gamer too, and he plans to use Linux mainly for gaming purposes. I considered suggesting Bazzite since it's Fedora-based, which means it's more stable than Arch or CachyOS, but I worry that he might find immutable distros limiting for customization.

What do you all think I should recommend to him?
