I'm looking to add a second SSD to my gaming setup and wanted some advice on where to install it. I have a Gigabyte GA-B650 A ELITE AX V2 motherboard, a 9070XT GPU, and a 7800X3D CPU. Specifically, I'm curious about installing the SSD in the M2C_SB slot. I plan to upgrade to a better SSD later when prices drop and might want to use the M2B_CPU slot for that. Will using the M2C_SB for my current SSD cause any issues with gaming performance or lag? Thanks!

You can use all three M.2 slots on your motherboard without any issues. Installing your SSD in the M2C_SB shouldn't create any problems. It’s all about the way the workload is handled during gaming, and in your case, it sounds like you’re set for a smooth experience!
Using the M2C_SB slot should be perfectly fine for gaming. In most cases, the location doesn't really make a significant difference when you're just gaming. Just keep in mind that if you're planning on upgrading to a larger SSD later, make sure it's actually 'better' in terms of storage capacity, since a faster SSD won't improve gaming performance significantly. Glad you're thinking ahead on your upgrades!
