I'm comparing Micro Center's current AMD bundles. The 7800X3D bundle used to be around $600, but it now costs closer to $750, which feels too expensive. Between the 7500X3D and 7600X3D bundles, is the extra $50–$80 for the 7600X3D worthwhile? I know the bundles include 16GB of RAM, and that amount is enough for me. I'm mainly interested in gaming value and don't think the Intel options offer comparable value. I also already own a Samsung 970 EVO Plus PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2 SSD and don't want to replace it, so motherboard compatibility and real-world performance matter to me.

The 7600X3D has a slightly higher boost clock, but the 200 MHz difference alone probably won’t justify the price increase. The more important factor is that its bundle usually includes a better motherboard, so you’re paying for more than just a small CPU upgrade. If the board has features you’ll actually use, the extra cost can make sense; otherwise, the 7500X3D is likely the better value.
It may also be worth looking at the 9800X3D bundle if it’s still around $729. For a gaming-focused build, spending roughly $29 more than a 270K-based option could be worthwhile, especially if you want stronger performance and a longer upgrade window. Buying a CPU and motherboard used or separately could also beat the bundle pricing, but compare the total cost and warranty coverage first.
For gaming, I’d prioritize the X3D chip and the overall motherboard bundle rather than the included SSD situation. Your existing PCIe 3.0 drive should still work in the newer boards; it just won’t run at PCIe 4.0 speeds.
