I'm looking at buying a custom-built prebuilt PC and I'm unsure which NVIDIA 50-series graphics card makes the most sense. I've seen several videos claiming the 50-series cards aren't a major improvement and that some 40-series models are better. Is that generally true, and what information do I need to compare the options properly?

Start with your budget and the games or applications you plan to run. If you don’t need NVIDIA-specific features such as CUDA or certain ray-tracing and upscaling features, AMD cards are also worth checking because they can provide strong performance for the money.
