I'm comparing three PC builds and would appreciate a rough performance and value comparison. My main goal is 1440p gaming at around 120 Hz and 120 FPS using high-to-max settings, while also streaming. I'd prefer to choose one of the less expensive options, but I'm willing to spend more if the performance improvement is significant—roughly 10% or more—as long as the cost of an individual component doesn't become excessive. I'm also trying to keep the complete build below about $3,000. The builds use similar core hardware, including a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and Radeon RX 9070 XT, but differ in memory capacity and speed, cooling, motherboard, power supply, case, and SSD selection. I'd especially like to know whether the more expensive options provide a noticeable gaming or streaming advantage, and which parts are worth prioritizing for quality and longevity.

The most important distinction between the lists is component quality rather than FPS. One build has faster 6400 CL38 memory, a better cooler, a stronger motherboard VRM, faster USB-C connectivity, and a much better SSD. The TeamGroup MP33 is a weak choice compared with a modern drive such as the WD SN7100, especially in sustained workloads and endurance. The 32GB build should be slightly faster overall, while the 64GB build gives you more headroom for heavy multitasking, video editing, or other memory-intensive work.
Unless you specifically need CUDA or software that strongly favors Nvidia, paying several hundred dollars extra for an RTX 5070 Ti doesn’t make much sense here. The RX 9070 XT offers very similar gaming performance, so the Nvidia card’s higher price isn’t buying a proportional improvement. The price difference is more about features, branding, and workload compatibility than a large increase in raw gaming speed.
That’s what I’ve been hearing too. The 9070 XT seems like the better choice when the priority is regular gaming rather than CUDA-based productivity work.
I’d favor the build with the air cooler and better SSD rather than paying extra for an AIO. An air cooler is generally simpler, quieter, and less likely to need replacement after a few years. The motherboards also don’t automatically become better just because they use a newer chipset: the less expensive board may have stronger VRMs and better USB-C support. Check the exact ports and expansion features you need instead of choosing based only on the chipset number. Both cases also appear to prioritize a glass-heavy look over airflow, so choosing a case with better ventilation could be a worthwhile improvement.
For gaming, streaming, and 1440p at 120 FPS, the builds with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and RX 9070 XT should perform almost identically. The main differences aren’t likely to produce a dramatic frame-rate increase. The 64GB kit may help with heavier multitasking or editing, but 32GB is still enough for gaming and streaming in most cases. The faster memory could provide a small improvement, but not enough to justify a major price increase by itself.
That’s pretty much the target I had in mind. I mainly want high settings and smooth 120 FPS without spending close to $3,000 unless the upgrade is genuinely noticeable.

I’m mostly gaming and streaming, so I may not need 64GB immediately. I do want the other parts to be reliable, though, especially the SSD and power supply.
