I'm planning to upgrade my processor to use with my 5070, as I'm currently on an i5 10400F. I'm sticking with an AM4 socket since AM5 is too pricey for my budget. I've found a few options with their prices: R5 5600X for $120, R7 5700X for $150, and R5 5500X3D for $200. I'd love to hear which one you think would be the best fit for my system considering both price and performance!

Honestly, for the price-to-performance ratio, the R5 5500X3D is where it’s at. You get a lot more for $50 extra compared to saving on the 5600X. Gamers Nexus had a glowing review on it, so I'd definitely keep that one in mind!
I opted for the R7 5700X myself. For just a bit more cash over the 5600X, you're getting 33% more performance with 2 extra cores, which helps a lot for future gaming needs. The X3D isn’t a game-changer for everyone, and I think 8 cores are a better long-term investment.
If you're just gaming, the R5 5500X3D would really shine and give you the best performance. It might stumble a bit on tasks outside gaming, though, especially if they favor more cores. The R7 5700X is more versatile, while the 5600X is a solid choice for budget builds.

For sure, 8 cores definitely seems more future-proof. But isn’t the X3D supposed to have great gaming performance? It's a tough choice!
