I'm debating between two gaming setups that are similarly priced. The first has a B550 motherboard paired with a RTX 4060, and the second features an A520 motherboard along with a RTX 3070. Since I'm from South America, pricing can be pretty unpredictable here. At first, I leaned towards the 4060 combo, but then I noticed the 3070 is only a bit more expensive. I figured that since the 3070 uses PCIe 3.0, I might not need the B550 or the Ryzen 5 5600 processor, making the A520 with Ryzen 5 5500 a valid alternative. What do you all think?

You might want to rethink the 5600 vs 5500 decision. The 5600 has a larger L3 cache, which can make a noticeable difference in games. The 5500 might feel underwhelming with the 3070. If you can swing the extra bucks for the 5600, it might be worth it for the longer-term benefits.
I think you should definitely consider the A520 with the 3070. The extra performance from the 3070 can significantly outpace the 4060, especially in gaming. Just make sure you're okay with not getting PCIe 4.0 benefits since the 3070 won't utilize that anyway. Plus, you won’t miss out on much if you’re on a budget.
Exactly! And the performance boost from the 3070 can really enhance your gaming experience without breaking the bank.

So, is the 4060 the better choice then? I guess it makes sense to go for something more modern.
