Why am I getting lower frames than my friends with worse PCs?

I've been noticing that my friends, who actually have less powerful PCs, seem to get way higher frame rates than I do. I have a pretty decent setup with a 7800 XT and a Ryzen 7 5700X3D processor, but I only manage around 200 to 700 fps, depending on the situation and how many entities are loaded. Meanwhile, they boast frame rates as high as 1500 fps! Could my 1440p monitor be the main factor affecting my performance, or could there be something else going on? Just to note, I'm running Sodium and Lithium, and my graphics settings are relatively low.

Is this a joke? I can't believe your friends are hitting 1500 fps—what are they playing? Some light games like Osu! or Clone Hero can get those crazy numbers. Just to clarify, even getting 200-700 fps is more than enough for most scenarios!
