Why Am I Getting Random Verification Codes From Different Services?

Hey everyone! Lately, I've been bombarded with verification codes via text from several services like CashApp, Lyft, Venmo, and Instacart that I never asked for. I do have accounts with all of them and enable 2FA everywhere, plus I use strong passwords. The messages are coming from legitimate numbers that I've received notifications from before, and they don't contain any links to click on. I recently switched phone carriers but kept my number. I'm starting to feel really anxious about this since I've received around 10 texts so far. Should I change my passwords for all my accounts? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'd say ignore those texts and avoid responding to them. If you can, just let your phone ring or mute the notifications for now. Sometimes numbers get recycled, and your number might just be landing on some spam list. In time, it should die down, but stay vigilant!

It's definitely worrying to get those texts! Since you mentioned that the numbers sending the codes are legitimate, it might be a case of someone else trying to log into your accounts with your number. Although you're secure with 2FA and strong passwords, changing your passwords could give you some peace of mind. Just make sure to do it from a secure device and network. Also, it might be worth checking if there are any unusual logins on your accounts. Stay safe!

I agree with Techie101, changing your passwords is a good idea. You might also want to check for any unauthorized activity in your accounts just to be safe.
