Why am I not seeing a performance boost after upgrading to a 5060ti?

I recently upgraded my graphics card from a 3060 12GB to a 5060ti 16GB, but I'm feeling pretty underwhelmed by the performance increase. I've been experiencing a lot of stuttering and other performance issues. I've already tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps like using DDU, updating my BIOS, reseating the card, updating the drivers, and adjusting settings, but nothing seems to help. Could this be a bottleneck issue? Everything is running off an NVMe SSD, and I mainly play at 1440p.

Yeah, that i7-9700k is pretty old at this point. I faced similar issues when I upgraded to a 3080 with the same CPU. It's definitely one of the bottlenecks. If you're looking for upgrades, consider a new CPU and motherboard combo that wonโ€™t empty your wallet completely. AMD has some budget-friendly options if you're willing to switch sides.

Performance can vary dramatically from game to game. Just because you've upgraded doesn't guarantee a big boost. If you're playing games that are more CPU-intensive, like World of Warcraft or those using the Unreal Engine 4, your i7-9700k might be holding you back. A 5060 Ti is about 20-30% faster, so if your frames are just slightly higher in CPU-bound scenarios, that's normal. You could try dialing up the graphics settings and see if it stabilizes your FPS.
