Why Are My Browsers Running So Slow on Windows?

Hi everyone, I'm facing a major issue where my browsers are extremely sluggish, particularly Brave. It feels like they're only attempting to load every second, but my CPU usage is hovering around 5%, fluctuating sporadically. I also reinstalled Chrome, but the same problem persists. It's not just the browsers either; Visual Studio Code is acting up too, which makes me suspect a potential problem with the system web renderer. I checked the reliability monitor and it indicates that the app has stopped working every second—despite it clearly being operational, albeit very slow. I've tried restarting my laptop, resetting browser data, disabling hardware acceleration, running system file checks, and even updating Windows to the latest version, yet nothing has worked. My laptop, an HP Victus 16, is powerful and runs everything else smoothly. I'm hoping to avoid a full PC reset since I have a lot of ongoing tasks. Help would be greatly appreciated, especially with an exam coming up tomorrow!

Have you checked for thermal throttling? Sometimes the CPU slows down to manage heat. You might want to open the back cover and clean the air vents with a brush to see if that helps.

I appreciate the suggestion! However, since everything else aside from the browsers is running smoothly—including games—I'm not inclined to think it's a hardware issue. Thanks though!
