I finished building my PC today, but it sounds much louder than expected. Two fans are running around 900 RPM, while the other two are spinning near 2000 RPM. The fans are Arctic P12 Pros connected in a daisy chain to the motherboard. I noticed the high speeds while checking the BIOS. What should I check or change to get them running normally?

Open the motherboard BIOS and check the fan-control settings for the header those two fans are connected to. Make sure the header is set to PWM if the fans use four-pin connectors, then select an appropriate temperature source and lower the fan curve. Also confirm the fans are connected to a controllable system or chassis-fan header rather than a header configured to run at full speed.
Since the fans are daisy-chained, check that the connector and motherboard header support controlling both fans together. The BIOS may be treating that header as running at 100%. Try setting a quieter system-fan curve, and verify that the fans are actually plugged into the intended motherboard header rather than a constant-voltage or full-speed connection.
They are Arctic P12 Pros, and I connected the pair together before plugging them into the motherboard. This is a brand-new build, so I’ll check the header mode and fan curve in BIOS.
