Why Aren’t My New USB-C Headphones Working with My iPhone 15?

I just picked up a pair of USB-C headphones for my iPhone 15, but they're not functioning at all. I've tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps: restarting my phone, cleaning both the headphone and phone ports, disconnecting and reconnecting Bluetooth, and even updating to the latest iOS version (26.3.1). Any advice would be appreciated, as I'd rather not have to replace these headphones so soon!

Are these headphones from Temu? I've heard mixed reviews about some brands, but if you got them from Target, they're likely more reliable. It’s odd they’re not working since they should be compatible with your iPhone.

Actually, no. I bought them from Target, not Temu.

It sounds like you might be dealing with defective headphones, or there could be an issue with the port on your phone. I noticed that sometimes headphones will connect but then immediately disconnect. If you connect them to a computer, do they manage to transfer data without disconnecting? That might help narrow down if it’s the headphones or the phone.

Yeah, if they connect intermittently, that could indicate a problem. Definitely try them out on a different device to see if the issue persists.
