I have a Windows 11 Lenovo laptop advertised with 1TB of storage, but File Explorer only shows about 474GB available. In Disk Management, I can see another storage section of roughly 476GB, but I don't know how to access it. Is the drive divided into two partitions, and what's the safest way to make the unused space available without losing my files?

Open Disk Management by right-clicking the Start button and selecting it. Maximize the window and look at how the disk is laid out. It sounds like the 1TB drive may have been split into two partitions of about 500GB each. The second partition might not have a drive letter, or it could be unallocated space. A screenshot of the full Disk Management window would make it easier to tell what’s happening.
That makes sense—I’ll check whether the second section has a drive letter or is listed as unallocated before changing anything.
