I'm having trouble with my Seagate Backup Plus Portable Drive. After formatting the hard disk, I could add and delete files just fine. However, once I eject it and plug it back in, I can only transfer files from the drive and can't add, create folders, or delete files. I can rename files, but any attempt to add or delete causes the drive to become undetectable by Windows, requiring me to unplug and replug it. What could be causing this issue?

How old is the drive? If it's brand new, you might want to check if there are any firmware updates or check warranty support just in case.
Make sure you're ejecting the drive properly. You should right-click on the drive in Explorer and select 'Eject' before unplugging it. If you closed your laptop with it still connected, that could cause issues when you reconnect it.
I did close the laptop while it was still connected. Maybe that's where the problem started.

I just bought it, so it's pretty new.
