My cursor suddenly became much faster while I was using a worn-down Razer Viper Mini at 1600 DPI. That DPI setting used to feel comfortable, but now it is far too quick and impossible to control. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Razer software, changing various Windows mouse settings, and updating or reinstalling drivers, but nothing helped. The problem also happens with every mouse I connect, so it does not seem to be a hardware issue. What could cause system-wide sensitivity to change like this, and how can I restore my normal precision?

Since the same behavior happens with multiple mice, the hardware probably is not the cause. Check Windows Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Mouse > Additional mouse settings > Pointer Options and verify the pointer speed and Enhance pointer precision options. Also inspect any saved profiles or DPI stages in Razer Synapse. If everything looks normal, create a temporary Windows user account and test the mouse there. If the sensitivity is normal in that account, your original Windows profile may have a corrupted user-specific setting, such as a damaged registry value or configuration file that controls pointer behavior. That would explain why reinstalling drivers does not fix it, since the problem is tied to your account rather than the mouse.
I already tried changing the pointer options and checking Synapse without any improvement, but I’ll test another Windows account. When you say a corrupted user setting, do you mean a setting value became damaged and is causing the sensitivity to behave incorrectly?
