Why Do DDR5 RAM Prices Vary So Much by Region?

I'm seeing a 32GB kit made of two 16GB DDR5 modules rated at 6000MHz with CL30 for about €160 locally. However, people elsewhere are saying comparable kits cost €400–€500, sometimes even more. Are those higher prices accurate, or are they usually outdated listings for unavailable stock? Could regional pricing, imports, or supply issues explain the difference?

A lot of the €400–€500 listings may be for products that are actually out of stock. Some retailers leave the old price visible instead of updating or removing the listing, so it can look like that’s the current market price.

Prices have also fluctuated a lot during the recent memory shortages. A kit that used to cost well under €200 can suddenly be listed much higher when inventory dries up, while occasional sales or gray-market imports can make some listings look unusually cheap.

RAM prices can differ dramatically between countries because of local supply, taxes, distributors, and import costs. In some areas, components brought in from a cheaper neighboring market can sell for far less than the prices seen in Western Europe.

If the kit is genuinely available, has the advertised 6000MHz CL30 specifications, and comes from a seller you trust, €160 is a very good price. I’d verify the exact model, warranty, and whether the seller actually has it ready to ship before assuming the deal is real.
