Why Do I Keep Getting Strict Firewall Errors on My Home Network?

I'm trying to figure out why my game setup isn't working. My fiancée and I are on the same network, connected via Ethernet, and she can host games like Hytale and Minecraft without issue. However, when I try to join her, I keep getting a message about strict firewall rules, even though I've turned my firewall off. I've exhausted all the troubleshooting tips I could find and it's driving me crazy!

It sounds like your ISP might be using CGNAT, which can mess with port forwarding. If this is the case, you might want to consider switching to a provider that gives you a real IP or try using IPv6 if your ISP supports it. Alternatively, investing in a paid VPN that allows inbound port mapping could also help you out.

If you've disabled your firewall and still face issues, look into your router settings as well. Sometimes there are settings that restrict connections even with firewalls turned off. Try resetting your router to see if that clears up the issue.
