Why do my monitors feel off even at high refresh rates?

I've been having a really weird issue with my monitors. No matter how many I've tried—I've switched between three different ones with refresh rates of 180Hz, 280Hz, and 300Hz—they just don't feel as smooth as they should. I remember how great the games felt on 144Hz monitors in gaming centers, but my setup feels off. I can run games like CS2 and Valorant at over 300fps without problems, but something's definitely not right. I've tried every possible setting on my PC and monitors for the past few months, and did a bunch of searches online but found no solutions. I also have Adaptive Sync enabled and have tweaked the monitor settings for the best response time and ghosting. Any suggestions would really help, as this has been super frustrating.

You might want to try using the website testufo.com. It's great for adjusting monitor output settings. Make sure to look into features like overdrive because they can sometimes make performance worse instead of better.

Have you checked if you have any Variable Refresh Rate settings turned on, like G-Sync or Adaptive Sync? Sometimes these can mess with the smoothness depending on how they're set up.

Yeah, I do have Adaptive Sync enabled. I've also configured my monitor's OSD for optimal response time and reduced ghosting.
