I'm experiencing an issue where my Windows applications constantly lose focus and switch to other background apps, then revert back on their own. This happens frequently while I'm trying to use certain apps. I doubt I have a virus. What could be causing this?

This usually happens when something in the background is stealing focus, rather than Windows itself making unpredictable changes. Common culprits include rogue startup applications, overlays, or even a stuck keyboard or touchpad. Try unplugging any extra peripherals like mice or keyboards to see if that helps. Then, consider doing a clean boot and disabling non-Microsoft startup programs to pinpoint any background apps causing the issue. Also, updating your drivers for the touchpad, mouse, and graphics card can sometimes resolve focus issues. If it only occurs in your web browser, a browser extension might be at fault.
I just launched Paint and noticed my mouse clicks are fully responding. It might actually be an issue with the mouse itself.
