Why Does 1440p Look Blurry on My 4K Monitor?

Hey everyone! I've got a 27" Gigabyte 4K monitor, and while it's super sharp, I'm trying to play some demanding games at 1440p to boost my FPS. Unfortunately, no matter what settings I use with DLSS, the 1440p resolution looks really blurry. I understand that 1440p doesn't match up perfectly with 4K, but I've read that upscaling should help with this. Is this just how it is, or am I missing something?

If you want 1440p to look good, I’d suggest getting a 2K monitor instead of trying to force it on a 4K screen. It might just be a limitation of the resolution mix.

If you're aiming to play at 1440p on a 4K monitor, it’s better not to set the game resolution to 1440p while using DLSS. Instead, keep the resolution at 4K and let DLSS do its thing. The game will render at 1440p and upscale it for you, which should prevent the blurriness you're experiencing.

How are you setting up your games? If you're using DLSS, you should keep the game resolution at 4K. Running it at 1440p and then using DLSS essentially means you're upscaling twice, which does make it look blurrier. That’s likely why you’re not getting the clarity you want.

I get that! It feels like if I play at 1440p on my 4K monitor, with DLSS set to balanced, it seems way blurrier compared to a 1440p monitor with the same settings. I really want the performance boost but don't want to sacrifice quality either. I tried playing with and without DLSS on 1440p, and it still looks blurry.
