I've been facing an annoying issue where Chrome completely freezes or crashes every time I try to launch a game. The only way to get out of it is to close the tab or force-quit the task, then reopen Chrome, but it just happens again once I try to play. I suspect it could be due to memory management since I have 64 GB of RAM. I'm also worried it might be a hidden Trojan or just a typical Chrome problem. Has anyone else dealt with this?

It sounds like you might need to check your system specs a bit more. What other hardware do you have? Also, let us know how many drives you have and where the games are installed. Sometimes the drive with the games can affect performance, especially if it's heavily used or has errors.
Since you mentioned that most of your games are in the "Program Files" directory, that might be the issue. Those files can run into permission issues or become corrupted sometimes. Have you tried moving some of the less critical games out of that directory to see if it helps?
