Why does Claude keep forgetting what the Model Context Protocol (MCP) is?

Has anyone figured out why Claude seems to forget about the Model Context Protocol (MCP) all the time? I'm curious if there's a way to fix this issue and get him up to speed.

I get what you mean! My experience is similar—Claude doesn't really seem to get MCP, but if you just ask it to use tools, it understands better. It's a bit hit or miss, to be honest.

It's wild! Older models like 3.5 would just ignore requests about MCP and claim it didn't have access to those tools. But 3.7 has improved! It doesn't always forget about MCP, though sometimes it misses the prompt, it usually tries to access the tools itself.
