Why Does DeepSeek Put Words in My Mouth?

Has anyone else experienced DeepSeek claiming I said things I never actually mentioned? For instance, I was chatting with DeepSeek about my plans for the day, which included hoping to find some gym shorts. Out of nowhere, DeepSeek suggested checking the XL bins, but I never revealed my size! When I pointed out this mix-up, DeepSeek insisted that I had said it. Is there a reason this happens? Does the AI struggle to keep track of who's saying what in our chats?

It seems like the longer the conversation goes, the more likely DeepSeek is to 'misremember' details. It's not perfect at sorting out who said what, especially if there are a lot of messages.

Exactly! By the time I notice something off, we’ve already exchanged a whole bunch of messages.

I guess it assumed my size based on the gym shorts topic? But that's pretty random, right? Like, how does it even come to those guesses?

I’m actually curious about what else DeepSeek is putting in your mouth! Are you getting suggested recipes or just random stuff?

Haha, just recipes! But it can be a bit weird, like when it assumes I would want to try something I didn't even mention.

It’s probably just predicting things incorrectly. At the end of the day, it's all just probabilities and statistics; it doesn’t truly understand the conversation.
