Why does Dolphin display one folder name incorrectly in the title bar?

On a fresh Debian 13 installation, I have an old folder named `IncomingPics-TeraNews`. When I open folders in Dolphin, the folder's name normally appears correctly in the title bar. However, this particular folder is displayed as `IncimngPics`โ€”the "o" is missing and the "i" appears in the wrong place. I would rather try a few troubleshooting steps before filing a bug report. Is there anything I can check or try?

The folder name might contain an unusual Unicode or non-printing character, especially since it has been around for so long. Try temporarily renaming it to something simple, such as `TestFolder`, then rename it back and check whether the title bar corrects itself.

First check whether you installed Debian Stable or a testing/unstable release. Stable may include an older KDE and Dolphin version, so the issue could already be fixed upstream. Updating Dolphin or testing with a newer version may help.

MellowPine42: I believe I installed the stable release, since that was the default download I used.

I couldnโ€™t reproduce this with Dolphin on another KDE-based system, so it may be specific to the older version included with your installation. Updating Dolphin is worth trying before assuming it is a current bug.
