I recently built my first PC and everything works perfectly with the memory running at its default DDR5-4800 setting. My system uses an Intel Core Ultra 270K Plus, an Asus Prime B860 WiFi motherboard, and a 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 CL36 kit made up of two 16GB modules. The rest of the build includes an RTX 5070 Ti, a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSD, a 1050W power supply, and a dual-tower air cooler.
When I enabled XMP to run the RAM at its advertised 6000 MT/s, I experienced several crashes over the next couple of days. I updated the BIOS and disabled XMP, after which the computer ran completely reliably for about two weeks. Re-enabling XMP caused another hard crash within roughly 50 minutes, even though I was only watching YouTube videos.
I would prefer to run the memory at 6000 rather than 4800, especially since the kit is rated for that speed. What settings or troubleshooting steps should I try to make it stable?

You could try increasing the DRAM voltage slightly and loosening the CAS latency by one or two points, but test each change carefully. Also run a proper memory test after every adjustment. If the system remains stable at 4800 but crashes only with XMP enabled, that strongly points to memory overclock instability rather than a problem with the rest of the build.
The XMP profile is not a guarantee that every motherboard and CPU memory controller will run that kit at 6000. It is technically a memory overclock profile, even when the modules are advertised for that speed. Try manually selecting a slightly lower frequency, relaxing the timings, or making a small, safe DRAM-voltage adjustment. You may need to find a stable compromise such as 5600 or 5800 rather than using the full XMP setting.

I understand that XMP is technically an overclock, but I was hoping to use the 6000 speed Corsair advertised rather than the default 4800 setting. I appreciate the suggestions and will try tuning it manually.
