Hey everyone! I recently received a mandatory form from my company asking for my laptop's Wi-Fi MAC address, but they didn't give much explanation. I'm wondering if this is just a security measure to monitor our network traffic or something else. Also, should I stop using ChatGPT for my development work? Any insights would be appreciated!

It’s likely they want to add your device as a trusted one on the network. This could be a security step to ensure only known devices can connect, and they might tighten access by barring unauthorized devices from the Wi-Fi. If they're tracking usage, they might already know your MAC address.

Exactly! It's probably about restricting connection to verified devices on company Wi-Fi. Just keep in mind that if they have the tools to monitor your usage, they'd easily find out your MAC.
