My iPhone 14 shows 85% maximum battery capacity, but the battery seems to drain unusually quickly. I unplugged it at 10:15 a.m. and it was down to 35% by 5:13 p.m. with ordinary use such as Safari and YouTube. Is this expected, or is there something I should check or change?

Safari and YouTube can use a lot of power, especially when you're on mobile data. Still, an iPhone 14 with its original battery may simply be showing its age. The 85% health reading doesn't always reflect how well an older battery can actually hold a charge, so this level of battery life may be normal for its condition.
Since you confirmed there isn't a charge limit enabled, check Settings > Battery to see which apps are using the most power. Lowering screen brightness, using Wi-Fi when possible, limiting background activity, and checking for weak cellular signal can help. If the battery still drops rapidly, a battery replacement may be worth considering.

That makes sense. I’ll check my usage and see what I can do.
