My iPhone 14 Pro Max has recently started displaying the temperature warning at random, even while I'm using it in a cool, air-conditioned room. The warning appears frequently—sometimes every few minutes—and usually disappears after 10–20 seconds. I updated to iOS 27 around the same time, so I'm wondering whether this could be a software problem or if repeated drops, even from roughly one foot, may have damaged a temperature sensor or another internal component. If the warnings began after the phone was dropped, hardware damage is a strong possibility. A temperature alert can be triggered by a damaged sensor, battery connection, or internal component even when the phone feels cool.
