I recently bought an AX1800 TX20U Wi‑Fi adapter because my old adapter stopped working properly. The 2.4 GHz network works fine, but as soon as I connect to 5 GHz, my Logitech G305 mouse starts lagging or stops responding completely. The cursor can even disappear until I switch Wi‑Fi back to 2.4 GHz. I bought this adapter mainly for gaming, so is there a way to fix the interference or compatibility issue, or should I return the adapter?

The G305 uses its own 2.4 GHz wireless receiver, so the problem is probably interference from the new adapter or its USB connection rather than the 5 GHz signal itself. Try plugging the Wi‑Fi adapter and mouse receiver into separate USB ports, preferably on opposite sides of the computer. A short USB extension cable can also help move the Wi‑Fi adapter away from the mouse receiver. Then update or reinstall the Wi‑Fi and chipset drivers, disable USB power saving, and test with the adapter in a USB 2.0 port if available. If the mouse works normally with a wired connection or another Wi‑Fi adapter, the TX20U may be defective or poorly shielded.
