Why does my microSD card stop transferring files and crash my PC?

I'm having trouble with my microSD card reader. Whenever I try to copy files from my drives to the microSD card, the transfer stops abruptly and drops to 0 bytes/s. If I attempt to restart the transfer, my PC crashes, sometimes giving me a blue screen and making apps unresponsive. Has anyone experienced this or know how to fix it?

How old is your microSD card? Also, what brand and model are you using? Sometimes, cards fail or might be counterfeit, especially if they're cheap. If you have access to other devices, it might be worth trying to use the card in those to see if the problem persists. You could also consider using H2testw to check for errors on the card, although that can take a while. Just a heads-up, if it can't even handle normal writes, it might not work at all.
