I've got a Core i3 8100 processor on a Gigabyte B360M HD3 motherboard with 16GB of RAM and a mix of an SSD and HDD. Recently, after updating my BIOS, I've noticed that the motherboard logo hangs on the screen for exactly 50 seconds every time I boot up, before the Windows loading screen finally appears. I've tried enabling 'ultra fast' boot mode, clearing the CMOS battery and resetting to optimal settings, and disabling XMP, but nothing seems to help. Is there a way to fix this issue, or a software solution that could help?

It sounds like a BIOS quirk after the update. You might want to reach out to Gigabyte support and let them know about this. In the meantime, consider downgrading your BIOS if that’s an option for you, although I know it can be tricky with certain updates.

I actually tried downgrading my BIOS and ran into the same snag. It seems like once you update it to a certain version, it locks you out of earlier versions. I wish I had known that before updating!
