My refurbished laptop disconnects from my home Wi‑Fi and shows the message, "Some information has changed since the last time you connected. We need additional information to complete the connection." I have to enter the password again every time. This only happens on the laptop; my other devices stay connected normally. I've already tried changing the Wi‑Fi band, forgetting and reconnecting to the network, and uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless drivers. The laptop came with Windows 11, but I downgraded it to Windows 10. Could that be related?

Because the other devices work normally, the laptop’s wireless adapter, its driver, or the Windows installation is more likely than the router itself. Install the manufacturer’s exact driver, test both Wi‑Fi bands, and try a clean operating-system installation. If the problem continues afterward, the refurbished laptop may have a failing or incompatible wireless adapter.
Since the laptop was downgraded, the Windows installation or its wireless configuration may be part of the problem. A clean reinstall, preferably using the operating system and drivers intended for that laptop, could fix it. If possible, test it with Windows 11 before ruling out a hardware issue.
That message normally means the saved security information or connection ticket is no longer being accepted. Seeing it repeatedly suggests a compatibility problem rather than a wrong password. Try forcing the adapter to use only 2.4 GHz or only 5 GHz, and check whether the router is using WPA2, WPA3, or a mixed security mode. The adapter may not handle the router’s current settings reliably.
