I'm having a weird issue with my work laptop. Whenever I launch a game, the internet drops out, but streaming services like Twitch and Netflix work just fine. I'm connected to WiFi on my laptop while my PC is wired directly to the modem. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

There are a couple of likely causes:
1. Your router might need a restart.
2. You could be hitting bandwidth limits. Try rebooting the modem and checking your internet speeds.
3. Run a ping test to your router while you're gaming. If the pings spike, that's a sign the router might be the problem. If those are fine, check your connection to something like google.com.
What's your internet bandwidth looking like? That could give some clues!
Sounds like it might be an issue with your workplace's traffic management. They could be intercepting signals when your laptop is trying to access game servers. It's best to check with your IT department since they handle the network.

My ping is 5ms with a download speed of 346 and upload of 17.98. How does that sound? I’m seeing an upload latency of 236 and download latency of 43.
