Why Does Spotify Cause Frame Drops While Gaming?

I've been having a frustrating issue while gaming. Whenever I listen to music on Spotify, my game starts to lag and stutter. It feels fine again as soon as I pause the music. I've tried adjusting music streaming settings to low, normal, and high, but it hasn't helped. I've even cleared my Spotify cache and removed my downloaded playlists, yet I'm still facing this problem. I really want to enjoy gaming while listening to music, so any tips would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to check and disable hardware acceleration in Spotify settings if you haven't already. I heard that can help with performance issues, but if you've tried that, it could be something else entirely.

Yeah, I actually did that! I turned it off and back on, but it still didn't fix the lag. I'm really stumped.

Have you tried using the web version of Spotify instead of the app? Some people say it runs smoother during gaming sessions.
