I pressed Windows + R on my Windows 11 gaming PC and noticed that the Run dialog contains the text "supervirus." I'm not sure how it got there and want to know whether this means my computer is infected or at risk. What should I do to check safely?

Open Windows Security and run a full scan. Also check Protection history for anything it has detected. If you recently clicked suspicious pop-ups or downloaded unknown software, run Microsoft Defender’s Offline scan as an extra precaution. Avoid clicking fake virus alerts or entering commands suggested by websites.
The Run dialog itself does not display real CAPTCHA or virus warnings. If the word is simply sitting in the input field, it is probably a previous entry. You can clear the Run history by deleting the relevant registry entries, but there’s no need to change anything until you’ve scanned the system.
The Run box remembers whatever was entered there previously, so seeing “supervirus” does not by itself prove that your PC is infected. It may have been typed accidentally or entered by someone who used the computer. Don’t run it unless you know exactly what it does.

So the text can just be saved history rather than an active warning? I was worried the Run dialog was detecting malware.
