Why is my CPU cooler making noises after installing new RAM?

I recently attempted to upgrade my PC by adding another 16GB of RAM, but it seems the new memory was incompatible. This has led to some issues, and now I've noticed that my CPU cooler has started making strange noises. Considering it's around 9 years old, I'm wondering if it's just very dusty or if the bearings might be loose. Could my CPU be damaged from this, or do I just need to replace the cooler? Also, I've seen my CPU speeds going beyond their usual GHz limits, and I'm curious if there's a connection to the cooler noise.

It’s a bit confusing when you mention your CPU going over its GHz. Usually, CPUs run within a designated speed range. If you’re noticing unusual noises from your cooler, it’s most likely just the fans. You can check if there are any cables obstructing the fan blades. If not, consider replacing the fan instead of the whole cooler!

Yeah, it’s usually just dust or a fan issue. Keeping things clean helps avoid noise and overheating!
