Hey everyone! I've been having a strange issue with my download speeds. When I download Destiny 2 from the Epic Games Store, it takes about 30 minutes and I'm getting a speed of 850 Mbps. However, when I try to download the same game from Steam, it takes around 5 hours and I'm only seeing speeds of about 10 Mbps. Can anyone explain why this is happening?

It sounds like a server speed issue. Different platforms use various servers for downloads, and some can be really slow depending on where you live and how far you are from the server you're connecting to. Epic might just have better infrastructure in your area compared to Steam.
True! Some CDNs perform better than others for certain locations.
It’s likely just a case of bad luck. Sometimes certain networks are just better optimized for specific content delivery. If Steam is sluggish for you, it might just be how they've routed traffic in your area.
Totally! It's all about what's happening behind the scenes.
Right! Hopefully, Steam can improve their service in your area.
There could be several factors at play. Some download services have faster servers than others, and network routes can also affect speeds. Your ISP may handle traffic to Epic better than to Steam, which would explain the difference.
Makes sense! I notice speeds vary a lot based on time of day too.
Exactly, and other downloads happening on the same network can slow things down too.

Yeah, it's frustrating. Sometimes it's just about which servers are closest or least congested!
