My friend has an HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 laptop with pretty solid specs: it's got an Intel® Core™ Ultra 7, 16GB of RAM, a 2TB SSD, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050. Despite this, he's been struggling to run games like Battlefront 2 without experiencing severe lag, both in the menu and during gameplay. He mentioned that his SSD is only about a third full, and he's already updated his Nvidia and Windows drivers, restarted the laptop, and ensured it's plugged in while gaming. I'm starting to wonder if the issue stems from the laptop just not being suited for gaming or if there could be a hardware problem. Anyone have insights on what might be going wrong?

It sounds like your friend’s laptop might be using the integrated GPU instead of the dedicated NVIDIA 4050. That could definitely cause the lagging issues. There are plenty of guides online that explain how to switch to the dedicated graphics card. It’s worth checking that out!
He switched to the high-performance graphics card, but the performance is still the same.
I’ll check with him now.
