Why is my iPhone 13 Pro overheating after getting the charging port replaced?

I recently had a problem with my iPhone 13 Pro after water got inside. I didn't wait for the "Liquid detected in Lightning Connector" alert to disappear before charging, which caused the charging port to fail. After getting the port replaced at a repair shop, I've noticed my phone only recognizes an aftermarket cable, but not my original Apple cable. Furthermore, it starts to warm up when charging, and it gets really hot in the lower left corner of the screen, especially with a fast charger. Any advice on what I can do? Thanks!

You should definitely return to the repair shop and explain that the phone isn’t working correctly after they fixed it. Given that there’s probably more damage from the water, they should investigate further. If they can’t help, consider going to an Apple Store for a professional diagnosis.

It sounds like the water damage might have affected more than just the port. It's possible there are other components that didn't get fixed when they replaced the charging port. You might end up needing a new phone if that's the case.
