I've been having a frustrating issue with my iPhone 16 Pro. It started recently when I noticed it was showing that it was charging, but the battery percentage actually decreased instead. I thought it was just my work charger acting up, but when I got home and plugged it into my regular Apple USB-C, it didn't respond at all. Neither the low battery screen nor the usual prompts appeared; it just stayed black. After a trip to the Apple Store, they couldn't find any problems, even after they opened it up to check the serial code. To top it off, my warranty expired just three days ago, and a battery replacement would cost me $599! I'm really careful with my phone, and now it only charges wirelessly. I'm confused and frustrated about what could be wrong. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

If your warranty just expired and you've only had it serviced by Apple, I recommend calling Apple Support and asking to speak to a senior advisor. The staff at the store can only do so much (they're usually just first-level support), and they might be able to help you with a repair. Don't forget to back up your data before sending it in, as repairs sometimes require a reset.
I've had many Apple products over the years, and they usually don't turn customers away over a minor warranty expiration. There might still be more going on with your phone. It could be worth insisting on further investigation.
It sounds like your charging port might be faulty or dirty. They should have tested it at the store, but sometimes a deeper issue can get overlooked. Did they actually try charging it with a cable while you were there?
