I'm trying to figure out why my laptop is using nearly 90% of its memory when I barely have any apps running. Here are a couple of screenshots that show the memory usage. Can anyone explain what's going on?

This is something that comes up pretty often. The task manager and RAM usage can be misleading. Windows doesn’t free up RAM until it absolutely needs to, which is why you might see high memory allocation even with no programs open. This helps your frequently used apps launch faster. Also, having just 8GB of RAM is pretty low these days, so running demanding software will cause slowdowns regardless of what you do.

Totally agree! And don’t forget, when Windows updates, it can really stretch the memory thin. Just be careful because having only 8GB can lead to performance issues.
