Why is my laptop’s refresh rate stuck at 59.93 Hz when it’s supposed to be 144 Hz?

I recently purchased an Acer Aspire A715-76G laptop with an Intel i5 12th gen processor, 32GB RAM, and an RTX 3050 GPU. Although it's advertised to support a 144 Hz refresh rate, my display settings show that I'm only able to select 59.93 Hz. I've checked the advanced display settings but can't find any option to change it to a higher refresh rate. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on?

It's possible that your laptop is limiting the refresh rate to conserve battery, especially when it's not plugged in. Make sure you're using it while connected to a power source. Also, check if V-Sync is on; if it is, you might want to disable it and see if that allows you to select the higher refresh rate.

Try right-clicking anywhere on your desktop, then select 'Display Settings'. Scroll down and find the 'Advanced Display Settings' option. You should be able to change the refresh rate there, but if it's still locked at 59.93 Hz, something else might be up.
