Why is my MacBook Air M2 making a sharp sound after a screen replacement?

I recently had the display replaced on my MacBook Air M2 (2022) due to a hinge issue. However, after getting it back, I've noticed that when I close the lid, it doesn't make the usual smooth sound anymore. Instead, it's more of a sharp noise, almost like the rubber gasket was swapped out for something harder, like metal. It's definitely not a clicking or cracking sound, and it seems to be coming from the top corners of the lid rather than the hinge itself. Has anyone else experienced this? What could be causing the change in sound?

Sounds like you might need to take it back to Apple. If something seems off after a repair, it’s definitely worth getting their attention again.

Yeah, I get that! But it's tough when they keep your device for so long. If it's just a minor issue, you might want to hold off for now since exams are around the corner.
