Why is my mouse and screen lagging after switching to WiFi?

I recently moved my PC with an RTX 4070 to another room and switched from an Ethernet connection to WiFi. Since then, I've been experiencing lag with my screen and mouse. The screen seems fine when I'm playing games that don't require WiFi, but I notice stuttering when watching YouTube videos. My mouse is wireless, and I'm pretty sure the WiFi is the issue since my connection isn't great. Any ideas on what might be causing this lag or how to fix it?

If you're looking for a quick fix, going back to Ethernet should definitely solve the lag issues. It's more stable than WiFi, especially if your WiFi isn't reliable. So yes, switching back should bring everything back to normal!

It sounds like your WiFi might be causing interference, especially if both your mouse and your WiFi are on the 2.4GHz band. If possible, try switching to a 5GHz WiFi network for better performance. Also, you might want to consider using Powerline adapters or MOCA Ethernet adapters if you can't get a good WiFi signal. That could help cut out lag altogether!
