Why Is My New 8TB SSD Only Showing Up as 8GB?

I recently purchased a Samsung 8TB SSD, but when I installed it, Windows Disk Management only recognizes it as having an 8GB capacity. I've tried various fixes but nothing seems to work. I would really appreciate some help resolving this issue. Just to add, I have a NUC13RNGi9 Full setup, and I bought the SSD for $899 plus tax from Amazon. It looked legit to me. Here's a link to an image showing what I see: [imgur link].

Make sure you've initialized the drive and created a partition table. Sometimes new drives need to be set up before they show their full capacity.

You might want to check the serial number on Samsung's site to confirm if it’s legit. If it turns out to be fake, you could file a claim with Amazon.

It sounds like it could be a fake drive, especially if Samsung Magician isn't recognizing it. If it's detected in Windows but not in Magician, that's a big red flag.

Where did you get it? If the price seemed too good to be true, it could be worth checking again. Just because it was from Amazon doesn't mean it wasn't misrepresented.

If you're unhappy with it, you could return it. But if you've thrown out the packaging, that could complicate things. Just a heads up!
