Why is my new PC not sending a signal to the monitor?

I just got a new PC from a friend, and I'm having trouble with it. The computer turns on and is connected to everything, but my monitor displays "no signal detected" as soon as I plug it in. I've tried connecting the monitor to both the graphics card and the motherboard, but neither works. The monitor was fine just the day before on my old PC. We've also reinstalled the GPU, and both the monitor and cable work perfectly with the old setup. I've never built a PC myself and I'm pretty confused, so any help would be appreciated!

Make sure to clear the CMOS or reset the BIOS to default settings. This can sometimes help with display issues. I know it sounds technical, but itโ€™s just a matter of a few simple steps! If you're not sure how to do it, I can guide you through the process.

Definitely start by listing the PC parts. If the setup worked before, something might have gotten loose during shipping. Itโ€™s common! Disassemble the PC and reassemble everything to make sure all connections are secure. If that doesn't work, try using a different monitor or even a TV, but be patient as TVs can take a while to show the boot screen. Also, check if your CPU has integrated graphics; if not, that might explain the signal issue from the motherboard ports.

First, you should try to post a list of your parts. Has the PC ever worked before? It might help us figure things out faster. If youโ€™re unsure about the parts, maybe just a picture of the setup could give us some clues!

I think the hard drive might have come loose during shipping. My friend mentioned it, but I plugged it back in. The motherboard does show a white VGA light. I'm just really confused about all this!
