Why is my PC monitor suddenly going black?

I'm having an issue with my fairly new computer where the monitor goes completely black out of nowhere. This started happening recently even though my drivers and Windows are updated. I've noticed it happening while playing games like GMod and TF2, as well as chatting on Steam. My GPU isn't overheating since I'm usually just listening to music or hanging out with friends when it occurs. The monitor goes black, shows a 'No Signal' message, and my CD player stops working too. My speakers and computer tower remain powered up. When I try to wake it by moving the mouse, nothing happens. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Take a look at the system logs under event viewer in computer management. The last logs should help you pinpoint what's causing the issue. Good luck!

Try searching for "TDR Delay regedit Nvidia" and applying those settings. It worked for me when I had similar issues.

You might want to check if you're using Nvidia driver version 591.xx. There have been reports of black screen and driver timeouts with that version. If so, try rolling back to version 581.xx. Just a thought!

I don't think I have Nvidia; I believe I have an AMD card. I'll check my drivers just in case.

Thanks! I have an AMD Radeon RX 6600, so I’ll look into that.
