Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to this whole PC gaming thing and I've been experiencing some frustrating issues with my FPS games. My games tend to have screen tearing and stuttering, especially during intense combat moments. I'm worried that my PC might be outdated or bottlenecked. I've made sure to keep all my drivers updated, but I could really use some guidance on what might be causing these problems. Here are my specs:
- Mortar B450M motherboard
- AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor
- TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 8 GB Video Card
- Running Windows 10
I'm not super knowledgeable about computers, so please be gentle! I was thinking about possibly upgrading my RAM to 32GB, but I'm not sure if that's the right move. Any thoughts?

It seems like your GPU might be the bottleneck. The RTX 2070 is still decent, but depending on the game, it might struggle at times.
You should grab some monitoring software to see your in-game stats, like GPU and CPU usage, as well as temps. It might help you identify where the bottleneck is happening.
Make sure to update your BIOS to the latest version. It can help with performance issues. Also, I’d recommend specifying which games are causing problems and at what settings you're playing them.
Screen tearing can often be fixed by enabling Vsync, but if you hate it, think about upgrading your monitor. A 144Hz display can make a huge difference!
Yeah, I totally dislike Vsync! I’m considering a new monitor since mine is only 75Hz. I’ve heard good things about 144Hz!

Thanks for the tip! I usually have the FPS and GPU % on display, but I haven’t checked the RAM usage or temps yet. I’ll definitely look into that!
