Why is my Wifi upload speed showing as 0 while my wired connection is fine?

I'm experiencing a strange issue with my Wifi connection. Even though my download speed is at 200 Mbps, my upload speed is showing as 0 Mbps when using Wifi. However, when I connect my computer directly through an Ethernet cable, both upload and download speeds are around 200 Mbps. Could this indicate a problem with my router or something else?

Yeah, it definitely seems odd. Usually, if upload speed is 0, you wouldn’t get any download speed either because TCP requires some upload for acknowledgments. It could be that something on your router or a security setting is blocking the upload test. If you have a firewall or antivirus on your PC, that might also interfere. Have you tried running a speed test again with just the Wifi connection?

It sounds like when you're using a wired connection, your PC isn't relying on Wifi, so that won't give you a proper picture of the Wifi performance. The fact that your upload speed is 0 on Wifi is strange because you shouldn't be able to achieve a download speed if you truly have no upload capacity. There might be a configuration issue with how your connections are set up or perhaps an IP conflict between the wired and wireless networks.

I agree with that. You should double-check and see if anything in your router settings might be blocking uploads. And make sure there aren’t multiple devices trying to connect at the same time, which could cause confusion in your network. Also, if all your devices on Wifi are facing the same issue, it might be worth restarting your router!
